Tomorrow, the school is hosting the Monster Bash in the school yard. The Beacon program will still be open. Students that have purchased tickets will be dismissed directly after school to attend the Monster Bash. If parents would like their child(ren) to attend the Beacon program until they are able to pick up their child(ren) to attend the Monster Bash, the Beacon program will keep them in regular activities. The Beacon students that are remaining in the program will have a chance to attend the Monster Bash however, students will travel in small groups with a Beacon staff member for a short amount of time. We are encouraging families to attend the Monster Bash with their child(ren).
We are glad to announce the school has started providing small snacks for all of our Beacon participants. Some students are not generally satisfied with the snack. We encourage parents to ask their child(ren) if they are satisfied with snack. Parents may want to pack an extra snack for their child(ren).
As a reminder, we will continue with the three dismissal times. We have slightly changed the dismissal times: 3:45pm, 4:45pm and 5:30pm.
Our first event is quickly approaching. We will have a Lights On After School event on October 26th, 2017 and we are encouraging families to come and participate with students. We are starting the activities in the building at 5:00pm and will conclude at 6:15pm. Some of the activities we will have for families and students include: adult and child art projects, and team games in the gym. We are celebrating the importance of after school and look forward to spending a short fun filled time with families and participants.
We are in the process of aggressively hiring and awaiting our SACC license to arrive to begin running as a multipurpose program. As we bring in more staff members, we will be adding more recreational activities to the program schedule.
As always, please let Christina or Nohar know if there are any questions or concerns.
