To promote a positive relationship between the school and the surrounding community.

What does the PTA do?
Each year the school's budget falls short of what the PS/IS 217 administration would like to offer our students. This is the primary area where the PTA assists
The PTA contributes by assuming responsibility for 100% of the costs of enrichment programs that are offered to students in every grade throughout the year. Without the PTA fundraising efforts these enrichments would not be offered.
The PTA also assists the school by covering additional expenses of teachers and classrooms throughout the year to ensure that all classrooms are fully equipped and students are having their needs met.
