Q1: What's your favorite thing about PS / IS 217? My favorite thing about PSIS 217 is the supportive community of teachers and the dedicated students that work hard every day. I love working with such a diverse group of people and learning about each student day by day.
Q2: What's your favorite thing to eat for lunch? I eat the same thing for lunch each day: Turkey sandwich, granola bar, carrots, and pretzels. Recently I have been avoiding eating chocolate chip cookies in my lunch (although they are my favorite!). I can't imagine eating anything else for lunch, except for Nutella french toast on weekends.
Q4: What was your favorite subject when you were in elementary / middle school (depending on teacher grade level)? My favorite subject in elementary school was writing. In high school, I was part of a poetry/writing club where I wrote a lot of poems and expressed myself through free writing. I loved writing short blurbs for the summer school newspaper. Creative writing was always my favorite part of school.
Q6: What's the last great book you read? The last great book I read was "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime". I recently saw the play on Broadway. It stayed true to the book and truly captured the thoughts and feelings of an autistic child on an adventure.
Q8: What did you do on your summer vacation? During my summer vacation, I went to Prague in the Czech Republic. It was an amazing city filled with beautiful architecture and wonderful food. It was the first time that I was in Eastern Europe. I had the chance to learn about the city's rich history and even sang karaoke there!
Q9: If you could get every student in your class to do one thing, every day, what would it be? If I could get every student in my class to do one thing every day, it would be to read and enjoy it. I would love to see every student in my class find an interesting book that they enjoy.
