217's 6th Annual Silent Auction & Spring Fling is coming up in less than three months, save the date for this fun-filled occasion for the entire 217 community!
While much has been done in preparation for our major fundraising event of the year, there is still a lot of work to be done by March 21. The success of the Spring Fling requires a community effort by all the members of 217 community: families, children, extended families, teachers, administration, and everyone who generously makes donations and in turn others who purchase the items at the Silent Auction.
For those of your who are unfamiliar with the concept of a silent auction, it works like this... businesses or individuals donate items to the school such as restaurant gift certificates, tickets to a ball game or museum memberships. At the silent auction event those items are displayed with an accompanying bid sheet and "auctioned" off. At the end of the event the person with the highest bid on a sheet is the "winner" of that item and the money that the person promises to pay for the item goes to 217. One way you can help to financially support this event is to "play the game", i.e. bid on one or as many items as you like, as many times as you like. Bid competitively for the item you want the most. It's a win-win situation... for you and our school!
In addition to raising funds that are important to supporting 217, we strive to createa day of fun, meeting old and making new friends, dancing, playing, and generally celebrating our wonderful 217 community!
In the coming days you will receive important information about soliciting donations and volunteering for the 2015 Silent Auction. Thank you ahead of time for participating in this year's Spring Fling.
