![]() Hair Fairies conducted a school-wide lice check today, following their lice education presentation at this morning’s PTA meeting. All students and teachers were checked. Hair Fairies detected at least one child with nits from lice in 18 out of 25 classes checked. Although this is hard news to hear, knowledge is power. As a community, we all need to work together to detect and eradicate lice at 217. The DOE provides information about lice, and how to treat and prevent lice here http://schools.nyc.gov/offices/health/pediculosis/default.htm What can I do if my child has lice or nits? There are many services that will help you get rid of lice, or you can treat lice at home. Even if your child was not found to have lice or nits during today’s screening, if your child is in a class where lice was detected, a preventative wet comb-out is helpful!
