Recently, classes 401, 402, 405 and 501 participated in a workshop presented by the New York City Children's Theater called "Fair and Square".
Fair and Square is all about conflict among 5th grade friends and the appropriate ways to handle these types of conflicts. After losing the school spelling bee to Roberta another student, McKayla. accuses her of cheating. When Roberta learns that she might lose her coveted award she takes matters into her own hands, placing the two of them in serious trouble. Throughout the interactive drama and workshop, students explored themes of conflict management, actions, and consequences as well as peer pressure. The students were highly involved and added wonderful insight and their own resolutions for the actors. Comments are closed.
