Book of the Month has returned to 217 for the 2017-18 school year! Book of the Month is a yearlong project that aims to build community and positive school culture. Each classroom will receive a gift of a new book every month for their library as a beginning to discussions and exercises in supporting positive behavior. Classes will have guest readers including middle school students and Principal Beckman.
This month's book is Two by Kathryn Otoshi. Otoshi’s story discusses a struggle between two best friends, and suggests that heroic action isn’t always something that can be seen - it’s something that happens inside. The teachers and students used this book as a starting point to discuss respect and friendship. Please continue the conversation at home!
