PS/IS 217 PTA’s “Invest in Your Child’s Success” campaign is our largest source of capital for the PTA-funded enrichment programs and material school support here at PS/IS 217. Through this drive, the PTA is able to fund the dance, drama, architecture, music, and other enrichments that complement the school’s academic curriculum. We are also able to pay for classroom books, school supplies, staff professional development, technology and support the school library.
Financed by your contributions to the “Invest in Your Child’s Success” Drive, these in-school programs, supplies, and equipment benefit every student.
Our suggested investment amount is $600 per child, but our ultimate goal is 100% participation. We welcome contributions in any amount, and we appreciate that each family’s circumstances differ.
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE
To contribute, please use a donation envelope or donate online at www.217pta.com. All donations to the PTA are tax-deductible and eligible to receive corporate matching. Contact the PTA treasurer at email@example.com for details on corporate matching.
Please make your contribution by November 1st, 2019. Your contributions by this deadline will help us plan the fiscal year and determine our funding priorities.
Welcome to the new members of the 217 community, and welcome back to the old timers. We once again invite you to clip and send in your Box Tops for Education. We collected $355.90 for the school last year, so 10 cents per clipping really does add up.
Deadline for Fall submission is November 1st!
Put your Box Tops in an envelope or Ziploc bag labeled with your child's name and class and drop them in the collection box inside the front entrance across from security. Please do not attach them to sheets.
Each child who submits 50 or more Box Tops before November 1st will receive a voucher for free popcorn and drink during our Spirit Day Popcorn sale!
The DOE guidelines for playing outdoors in cold weather:
In cold weather, students will still be allowed to play outside whenever possible. Unless it’s snowing, there is ice on the playground, or the wind-chill factor is below zero degrees fahrenheit (-18 degrees celsius), schools will not prohibit outdoor play, based on the outdoor temperature alone. On very cold days, students should cover up skin, wear warm clothing, and use several layers to stay warm.
Now that the temperatures are dropping, please make sure your children come to school with the appropriate clothing for the colder weather.
Please label all personal items with their name.
Because of your tremendous support, this year's Monster Bash had a record attendance and gross income!
It was amazing to see how our school community came together to enjoy the gorgeous weather and spooky vibes.
Bravo to everyone who worked so hard to make this event so special and fun for everyone.
Thank you, especially, to our parent/caregiver and teacher volunteers. We could not have done it without you.
