SPIRIT WEEK - FALL 2018!

10/31/2018

It has been wonderful to see so much participation, creativity, and enjoyment - check out the amazing gallery from this wee's Spirit Week!

Picture Day: November 8th!

10/30/2018

Tips from Stomping Ground on How to Prepare for Picture Day:

Every family and student is different. Some kids wear bow ties, some wear soccer shorts. Some wear ski caps and some wear fedoras. Some people wear suits and some wear dresses! It is entirely up to you how you want to look for Picture Day - we celebrate differences and encourage you to be yourself!

Suggestions to get you the photo you want:
  • Avoid logos. They draw the attention to the logo and away from the STAR of the photo.
  • Clean Faces. We try and notice when a student has food on their face but, man is it hard. We always ask the volunteers & teachers to check every student out before they go to set.
  • Keep it Simple. Complicated clothes can be difficult for students to arrange. While volunteers can help, they don’t know your intentions.
  • Speak with your child. Let your student know if you want a hat off, bow on the side or jacket open before Picture Day. If a student comes in a fleece, we photograph them in the fleece. Speak with your child about your expectations.

What is the SLT?

School Leadership Teams (SLTs) are vehicles for developing school-based educational policies, and ensuring that resources are aligned to implement those policies.

SLTs assist in the evaluation and assessment of a school’s educational programs and their effects on student achievement. SLTs play a significant role in creating a structure for school-based decision making, and shaping the path to a collaborative school culture.

New York State Education Law Section 2590-h requires every New York City Public School to have a School Leadership Team. In addition, Chancellor’s Regulation A-655 (CR A-655) establishes guidelines to ensure the formation of effective SLTs in every New York City public school.
