Chances are that you and many of your friends, family and neighbors use Amazon to shop online. The process is simple and quick, but there are certain things you need to remember, so our school will be able to earn from 4% to 8% from your purchase.
Just click on the unique link BEFORE you add items to your Amazon shopping cart. Send this link to friends and family! You still use your own login and personal account to shop. The only difference is that 217 school code is embedded in the link. This school code lets Amazon know that these customers are being referred by our school site and 217 gets a % of your purchase! The link is also available on the homepage of our website 217pta.com • Order matters: You need to: - click on the link (HERE), - shop, - and check out, in that order! If you don’t click on our link first, go to Amazon in your usual way, put things in your cart, and then remember to click on the link and check out – your sale will not earn us funds. You have to click our link before you put anything in your cart. NOTE: • The clock matters: You have 24 hours from when you link to put an item in your cart; after that you will need to link again. If you link, put something in your cart within 24 hours, but don’t want to buy it right away, that is fine – the purchase will still earn us funds if you finalize it within 90 days: just remember to link before you checkout. • One purchase session per link session: Arriving at Amazon through our link is good for 24 hours or until you actually place your order – after that, you need to link again. So if you link, complete a purchase, and then need to make another purchase – you have to link again in order for the purchase to earn us funds. • You won’t see anything that identifies you as an 217 shopper. Don’t worry - as long as you used the 217 link and follow the order and clock guidelines, your purchase will count. • The amount our school can earn ranges from 4% to 8%, depending on what you purchase and our total shipped items for the calendar month. The more we shop using our link, the more we will earn! Welcome to the new members of the 217 community, and welcome back to the old timers!
We once again invite you to clip and send in your Box Tops for Education. We collected $547.20 for the school last year, so 10 cents per clipping really does add up! And it is a fun way for your child to help with school fundraising - have a boxtop hunt in your kitchen! Please drop off Box Tops in the collection box inside the front entrance across from security. Put them in an envelope or baggie labeled with your child's name and class number. Please do not attach them to sheets. Each child who submits 100 or more Box Tops this school year will receive a certificate for a scoop of ice cream from Piccolo Trattoria (Nonno's)! Certificates will be delivered to the classroom teachers throughout the year as your child reaches the 100 Box Tops mark. Happy clipping! Looking for a way to support your child and help foster independence? Use Ms. Allen's checklist templates to help create morning and evening routines.

Pre-Kindergarten: The first day of Pre-K is split into two sessions. Your Class Assignment letter included more information specific to your child. The second day is a half day with dismissal from the classrooms at 11:36am. The first full day for Pre-K students is Monday, September 11th. Kindergarten-3rd Grades: Parents of K-3 students are permitted to take their child to his/her classroom on the first few days of school. Beginning Tuesday September 12th, you must say goodbye to your child prior to them entering school. 217 wants to teach students independence and maintain a safe environment. A prolonged goodbye makes the separation and transition to the school day more difficult. Many staff members are stationed around the building to ensure students get to classrooms and assist as needed. Kindergarten: The first day of Kindergarten is a half day. You may walk your child to their class and then join the PTA in the Cafeteria for Welcome to School refreshments. On the first day, Kindergarten will be dismissed from their classroom at 11:36am. The first full day of school for Kindergarten is Friday, September 8th. Grade 4: Parents of 4th grade students are permitted to take their child to the Auditorium on the first day of school, where students will be met by their teachers and escorted to their classrooms. After the first day, students are expected to independently enter the school and make their way to their classroom. Grades 5: Parents of 5th grade students are permitted to take their child to the classroom on the first day of school. A lunch form is a federal document and all schools are required to have these forms completed. Lunch forms are filled out online at www.myschoolapps.com. You can apply from any computer, tablet, or smart phone with an internet connection. You will need your child's student ID number to correctly identify your child with our school. Please email cclarson@schools.nyc.gov if you need your child's ID number. Once the application is completed online, please submit your confirmation page to your child's teacher or submit it to Ms. Crystal in the school office. It takes 48 hours for the application to process. If you do not have access to a computer, Ms. Crystal is happy to assist with the application process. A workshop is also being set up for parents to come to the school to file the application. If you have any questions please visit Ms. Crystal in the school office. She can also be reached at 212.980.0294 EXT. 1011.
